SEBASTIAN BACH Fired By 'Jesus Christ Superstar' Producers
April 3, 2003Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach was reportedly terminated by the producers of the national touring revival of the Rice-Webber rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar". No further information is available at this time.
In an interview published in January in the Asheville Citizen-Times, Bach spoke proudly of his involvement in the production, stating that "I am the very first heavy metal singer to take a Broadway show across the United States. And I'm proud of that. But there's a reason. No [other rock singer] could. It's brutal. What's really outrageous is doing two shows on Saturday, and two on Sunday. I have to be honest. That is as much as I have to give you, dude."
Bach had previously starred in Broadway's "Jekyll and Hyde" in 2000, where his four-month run was named Favorite Male Replacement of the Year by Broadway.com and he did a Broadway run of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", playing Riff Raff.
